We are thrilled to finally announce our involvement in one of the most exciting television challenges of the year! On Sunday 5th October 2025, on Channel 5, the latest episode of Challenge Anneka (Season 1, Episode 4) aired, showing Anneka Rice and her dedicated team tackling a truly monumental task for the Luton Sea Cadets.
The Mission: A 72-Hour Transformation
The dedicated volunteers at the Luton Sea Cadets help hundreds of young people in the area – many of whom are miles from the coast – to develop vital life skills, confidence, and teamwork. However, their training facilities, or “barracks,” were dilapidated and desperately needed a full makeover to be fit for purpose.
The challenge was set: Anneka and her army of volunteers and suppliers had just three short days to completely refurbish the accommodation, training rooms, and facilities, transforming a crumbling building into a safe, modern, and inspiring place for the cadets.
Our Part in the Plastering
We are incredibly proud that Nova Plasterboard Systems played a crucial part in the successful build! As a key supplier of building materials for the interior renovation, our materials helped turn the bare structure into functional, finished walls ready for painting and fitting.
In a 72-hour challenge where every minute and every material counts, being able to provide high-quality, reliable plasterboard systems was essential to the team’s success in creating a warm, dry, and welcoming environment. It was inspiring to see our products contribute to such a fast-paced, high-impact renovation.
A Success for the Cadets
To see the faces of the young cadets and volunteers at the grand opening made all the hard work worthwhile. The refurbishment has given them a facility that matches the dedication they put into their training.
