At Nova Plasterboard Systems, we place great emphasis not only on ticking boxes, but also on constantly monitoring our own procedures. A health and safety consultant works with us to ensure we are always compliant with relevant legislation, proving our commitment to providing a safe working environment for our workforce.

We are proud to be accredited by CHAS (The Contractors Health and Safety Scheme), SSS, SMSTS, CSCS compliant & first aid trained. All labour are CSCS card compliant and either hold or are working towards their NVQ 2 certificate. All senior supervisors hold the SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS (Site Supervisor) certificate. We employ the services of a third party organisation to assist in the health and safety training of our operatives.

Health & Safety Policy Statement

It is the policy of Nova Plasterboard Systems to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of all our employees and operatives. Equally, we accept a similar responsibility for the health and safety of other persons who may be affected by our activities. Every employee has a moral and legal responsibility to see that their actions or lack of them; do not place others at risk.

We regard the legal health and safety requirements as a minimum standard and expect managerial targets to be achieved without compromising health and safety criteria.

We acknowledge that successful health and safety management requires an effective policy, organisation and arrangements that reflect the commitment of senior management to improving health and safety. To sustain that commitment, we will continually measure, monitor and improve our performance in health and safety matters and will prepare and revise where necessary to ensure that health and safety standards are adequate.

We will provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, equipment and systems of work for all our employees.

We will ensure that all risk assessments as required by relevant legislationare completed, their recommendations implemented and that all employees and operatives are provided with sufficient information regarding those assessments.

We will provide such information, training and supervision as necessary to enable our employees and operatives to develop and maintain essential health and safety skills and will encourage the growth of a positive health and safety culture.

We will ensure continued consultation with our workforce to enable all viewpoints and recommendation to be discussed at regular intervals.
